Around Donington Manor. Local area.
From the Hotel in the other direction - along Market Street to Borough Street - is the largely unaltered late 18th/19th century main shopping street. The Church of St Edward the Martyr is a splendid example of 12th Century ecclesiastical building boasting fine tombs with excellent brass-rubbing possibilities, and a very rare architectural feature: a 'double-squint'. A short distance away, along the delightful narrow street called Apiary Gate is the old stone-built house which opened in Easter 2000 as the new village museum.
